Adolfo Baines Pilart (born 15 February 1972) is a retired Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
Born in Isaba, Navarre, Baines started his football career in the third division, with Getafe CF and Gimnàstic de Tarragona. In 1999, he moved to another side in the category, CD Badajoz, which he helped promote to the second level in his first year, maintaining his position in the subsequent three seasons, with the Extremadura side being relegated in his final year.
In the ensuing summer, Baines signed with another Segunda club, penning a two-year contract with CD Tenerife. He eventually stayed for three, but only managed to be a backup, amassing only four league matches combined.
Subsequently, Baines signed with England's Milton Keynes Dons (League Two) on a free transfer. He had a stormy start to the season, as he was sent off in his first league game for the Dons, after handling the ball outside the area, in a 2–1 win against Bury FC.[1] He was soon dropped to the bench when the club took Lee Harper on loan from Northampton Town.
After having spent the majority of his spell on the club's transfer list,[2] Baines was released by Milton Keynes in May 2007.[3] In 2011, he returned to his former team Gimnàstic, as a goalkeeper coach.[4]
